Bloomberg Businessweek+ App Reviews

Unbelievably annoying recent upgrade

I have been a loyal BusinessWeek subscriber for the past 15+ years. I really enjoyed the iPad version when it came out 5 years ago - very slick, easy to navigate, and perfectly designed for the iPad. Now, in the past couple of weeks, BW has taken the annoyance factor way up. There used to be the occasional ad that would pop up as you swipe left to right to the next page. Now there are multiple ad pages and, to make matters even worse, super-annoying pop-up ads that make you hit the tiny "x" on the upper right to close it out. This ruins the entire experience of this magazine app. I cant believe that BW expects us to pay for their magazine and be stuck with this completely annoying digital version, which I now consider to be a free version form, where you would gladly pay to have the annoying pop ads to go away. Guess Ill have to move on from this...

Pop-up Ads are Awful

Worst publication on the Internet. I pay for the subscription and, as a reward, am subjected to this abuse. BW. has one month to fix this or I will unsubscribe.

Yeah... Its Good

I get my Mag anywhere at anytime while I travel. iPad. I LOVE it.

Annoying slow update

Good magazine but the upload of a new issue takes way too long. They should hire the IT staff from The Economist

New IPad Pro

My BW app only loads one issue from 2014. No other issues will load including most recent. My iPhone app works fine but the purpose for buying an iPad Pro was to make viewing easier for me. The app needs an update to function properly.

Recent upgrades as too many pop-up ads

The recent upgrades has too many pop-up ads. Very annoying.

Excellent content!

I enjoy very much the app and the excellent content.

Incomplete issues update

Always experiencing incomplete update at 99% only, unable to read the new issues whenever I want to

Downloads not working properly

Nice app but there is an issue with the downloads. Just subscribed yesterday and had no issue with downloading the first issue. The flow of the app is nice, although a little difficult to figure out at first. The problem came after I received the notification of the next issue available today. It would download to 99% (according to the progress bar) and then hang there. Canceling the download and restarting did not work nor did restarting the device or anything like that. I finally got the download working after deleting the app, reinstalling it, and restoring my purchase. I’m not sure what will happen going forward with the next issue but I suppose this is a workaround for now, although inconvenient. A good app with good content if the developers can get the downloads right.

Taking care of Business

I enjoy the suite of Bloomberg apps, and the Bloomberg Businessweek app is no exception. The app provides well written, in-depth articles that help me keep up with rapidly changing market trends. However, the app has room for improvement. For one, having interactive content built into the articles as you read would allow you remain engaged in the content. Its a similar feeling when you read a physical magazine. From the moment you pick it up, to the moment you put it down, there is a sense of physical connection to the content. Overall 4.5/5 but I round up :)

Incredible annoying ads

Almost every page with a full ad

Digital BW

I like reading it, but I am not able to send many articles because they are not available for emailing. This needs to be fixed.

Annoying n intrusive adds

This app started out very good: easy to share articles and no advertising. I paid for subscription and should not be bothered with the constant popped up ads put in the current version. Ads pop up constantly and are sometimes difficult to close. Definitely, will cancel my subscription if BB doesnt clean up these adds, and make it user friendly again.

Cant Download Issues

Since the April 1 "upgrade", The new issue downloads to 99% and then stalls. The developer URL through the App Store is no longer valid. Customer service passed me off to Apple, who tried to fix things, but then discovered its BWs responsibility. I finally got an email address--no phone number--to their "problem-solving" people, but so far no response to my text. I have vision problems and can only read the e-version--Im not happy.

Pop up Ads

Recently Bloomberg has introduced the most annoying and repetitive pop-up ads. They require the reader to close the ad before moving on to the next article in lieu of an inline ads that can be swiped through. And its the same ad over and over again. Most annoying!

Annoying adds

The content is great but the annoying pop up ads make it almost unreadable. I dont mind swiping thru the ads I even read some of them. But prop up ads after every article is annoying

Business Week App

Excellent app! I like it better than the magazine. The tab organization makes it super quick to get the quick headlines in each category and find the articles where you want more depth.

Too many pop up ads!

This use to be my favorite magazine app. But, recently BW has added full screen pop up ads that come up every time you select an article. If this was a freebie, I would be more understanding, however it is a paid subscription. If this isnt fixed when my subscription is up, I will go elsewhere for my business news.

If only

Great magazine but the pop up adds drive me nuts FOUND A WORK AROUND READ THE MAGAZINE IN AIRPLANE MODE. AND NO POP UPS!!!!!

Hire some developers and fix this thing

The techies youve hired have done nothing useful in the five years that I have used this app. It worked better when I read it on a nook Color. Lately, the popup ads between articles have become infuriating. Also unprofessional is the occasional but sometimes pervasive non-breaking space, the lovely and eye-straining "&nbsp", a sure sign that the article was provided by someone still using outdated web tools.
